Santa Giulia | Torrenieri (Toscane)
- Het is klassiek en goed gemaakt in zijn uitgesproken sensorische profiel en biedt tonen van rode pruimen, cacaopoeder, geperste rode bloemen en gedroogde kamille. Full body, zachte tannines van nobele aard en een romige en omhullende afdronk. Nu al heerlijk maar nog beter vanaf 2021.

- Showing austerity and a broad base of dark fruit, spice and savory aromas, the Santa Giulia 2015 Brunello di Montalcino offers the density and power to pair with succulent red meat or steak. Pretty notes of smoke, tar and cured tobacco rise from the bouquet, and the primary fruit is dark with some dried blackberry and plum. These wines from the Terzuoli family are a nice little discovery for me this year.

- A nicely rounded 2016 with ripe tannins and juicy fruit. It’s full-bodied with lovely texture and a pretty finish. Walnut, berry, cherry and bark undertones. Drink or hold.

- Nog een jongeman maar nu al een topper. Bloemetjes a volonté in de neus, bijna parfum. Wordt vergezeld door donkerrood fruit, kruiden en wat aardse toetsen. Beetje rokerig ook. Zachte aanzet met aardbeitjes en kersjes. Contrast met het krachtige pallet bestaande uit aroma's van eik, kruiden, tabak, vanille en leer. Opspelende zuurtjes, maar niet storend. Beetje tannine nog. Droge, gepeperde afdronk. Great!

- Good red color. Very pretty sour red cherry and floral aromas and flavors. Lively and juicy, with a refreshing long close. An excellent wine, Santa Giulia’s first Rosso di Montalcino was made only in the 2001 vintage.
  Vinous - Antonio Galloni 90/100
- Grown in sandy clay soils in the northeastern corner of the appellation, the Santa Giulia 2018 Rosso di Montalcino is a delicate wine with great Sangiovese purity and harmony. This expression is slightly toned down, as can be expected from a Rosso, but all that varietal personality is on full display and ready for spinach ravioli.

- The latest release of Chiquet's supremely dependable NV Brut Premier Cru Tradition reveals an inviting bouquet of crisp yellow orchard fruit, fresh peach, honeycomb, Meyer lemon and warm biscuits. On the palate, it's medium to full-bodied, fleshy and charming, with a youthfully frothy but refined mousse, a succulent core of fruit and ripe but racy balancing acids. It's already drinking well.

- The Brut Tradition is bright and beautifully focused, with striking balance of fruit, aromatics and acid. The current release is 40% Meunier, 35% Chardonnay and 25% Pinot Noir. There is a breezy, effortless quality to the Tradition that is impossible to miss. Floral accents, dried pear and chamomile linger.

- Pretty, herbal citrus nose and a hint of apricot, Really zesty and tastes relatively dry. Elegant, precise, fine mousse and really long.

- This is a pretty, floral Amarone with dried rose petals, leaves, cedar and lavender. The alcohol is on the low side for the appellation, and that leaves the door wide open for forthright acidity to spring into action and coat the palate in vibrant, red-fruit flavors, swathed in polished, soft tannins. Drink from 2021.

- The flagship 2016 Châteauneuf-du-Pape Blanc La Fontaine is a more substantial, serious effort that offers notes of caramelized citrus, brioche, honeysuckle and orange blossom. Rich, layered and concentrated, yet also fresh and lively, it's a terrific white that's going to sing on the dinner table. Drink it anytime over the coming 4-5 years (it will keep even longer).

- The full-bodied, creamy-textured and amazingly plush 2016 Chateauneuf du Pape Blanc La Fontaine is a blend of barrel-fermented and tank-fermented Roussanne. The aromas of honey, vanilla and bergamot are intense, as are the pineapple notes on the palate. The wine finishes long, given definition by briny and bitter notes. My advice is to opt for caution when aging these big whites and drink them while the fruit is still paramount.

- Baked apple, lovely cinnamon spice, punchy acidic frame and a long, nutty finish. Really enjoyable and elegant – flavoursome, yet shapely. Nicely done. Might convince someone who’s not normally a fan.

This top cuvée uses grapes grown on 40 year old vines just behind the cellar. Asparagus, citrus and mineral character make this aromatic 2017 a great match for your finest seafood.

Chiquet's Blanc de Blancs marries the natural breadth of Aÿ with deeply expressive varietal notes and striking freshness. The interplay of those elements makes for a highly engaging and delicious Champagne.

- Fruitige sensaties maar ook bloemen. Verdicchio is een wijnstok die bestaat uit honderdduizend facetten. Stefano Antonucci, een vulkanische producent uit de regio Marche, geeft ons een spectaculaire versie. De Vaglie van de wijnmakerij Santa Barbara verovert om zijn smeuïge smaak en die elegante smaak.
