De Sauvignon Blanc '15 van Stefano Antonucci is door de 21 miljoen Vivino gebruikers tot de 10 beste wijnen in de categorie 'Central Italy White' beoordeeld. Stefano beweert stellig dat de nieuwe jaargang 2016 nog beter is!
Animale Celeste ('het hemelse dier') is gemaakt van 100% Sauvignon Blanc. De wijnstokken voor deze uitstekende Sauvignon komen uit Nieuw-Zeeland waar de cult wijn Cloudy Bay Sauvignon wordt gemaakt, een van de beste wijngaarden in het land. Stefano Antonucci heeft kosten noch moeite gespaard om één van de beste Sauvignons van Italië te produceren. En dat is blijkbaar gelukt! Dus aarzel niet, zeker proberen.
De smaak
Fonkelend licht geel in het glas. Opent met een prettige fruitige geur van vlierbes, kruisbes, rijp steenfruit, citroengras en passievrucht. Zeer fijn fruit in de mond, mineraal, sappig, heerlijk. De structuur in combinatie met een grote elegantie maakt het een top witte wijn.

Spijs-aanbeveling
Geweldig als aperitief. Zowel bij warme als koude voorgerechten met vis: tartaar, carpaccio van vis of oesters. Perfect met sushi en sashimi. Ook in Le Marche is de Celeste Animale een geliefde wijn in combinatie met primi en secondi met vis en schaaldieren.
De oorsprong
Barbara, een klein dorpje pakweg twee uur ten zuiden van San Marino. Hier maakt Stefano Antonucci zijn wijn. Stefano is met zijn prachtige bedrijf een begrip in het oosten van Italië. Hij maakt een enorm arsenaal aan wijnen en excelleert met zijn Verdicchio’s en Montepulciano's. Ook zijn zijn experimenten met internationale druivenrassen fenominaal. Op het schitterende terroir dat hem ter beschikking staat behaalt hij grote internationale successen. In beide gevallen streeft hij naar wijnen die origineel zijn met elk een grote persoonlijkheid. Dat moet je proeven.

Verdicchio from this DOC zone is produced in the central hills of the province of Ancona, as well as a tiny part of the neighbouring area in the provence of Macerata. Only the wine sourced from a limited, traditional growing area can be called Classico. Given the extremely versatile nature of the variety almost all wine types are represented, especially Superiore, Riserva, Passito and Spumante. This Jesi grape is one of Italy's finest native varieties, yielding characterful white wines, with fresh aromas and a complex, minerally, savoury palate. Ideal with seafood dishes of all kinds and equally delicious with white meats. Serve at 12 - 14.

Verdicchio [ver’dikkjo] is a white Italian wine grape variety grown primarily in the Marche region of central Italy. The name Verdicchio derives fromverde (or "green") and refers to the slight green/yellow hue that wines made from the grape can have.Verdicchio is the principal grape behind two Denominazione di Origine Controllata (DOC) wines produced in the provinces of Macerata and Ancona, Verdicchio di Matelica and Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi. In addition to producing still wines, Verdicchio grapes are also used to make sparkling wine andstraw wine.

Verdicchio can produce wines that are virtually colorless with noticeably high acidity that can come across on the palate with citrus notes. According to wine expert Jancis Robinson, well made examples from favorable vintages can have flavors of lemons and slight bitter almond notes.
According to Oz Clarke, the quality of Verdicchio wines has improved since the later half of the 20th century as producers limit yields even beyond DOC regulation to produce fuller flavored grapes that can better balance its high acidity. Clarke goes on to note that the subtlety of Verdicchio flavors allows it to pair very well with a variety of foods.
